Steps from registration to start of stay:
If you have checked all of the above and would like to experience au pair or demi pair, please register using the form.
Once we have confirmed that you have filled out the form, we will send you an email with instructions on how to write a cover letter and a QR code for LINE registration. Please use the cover letter example as a reference to write a self-introduction in English for your family. Also, please prepare 2-3 photos that show your hobbies and interests, a copy of your photo ID (passport), a resume (either Japanese format or working holiday format), a copy of your visa, and a copy of your overseas insurance certificate (if you have not yet signed up, please let us know). Please return all six documents to us.
We will review the materials you have provided and ask you to schedule an interview. Please let us know a convenient date. (We will ask you a few questions to match each person with a suitable family based on the form. It will take about 15 minutes.)
We will match you with a family based on the form and interview. We will find a suitable family and send them a family profile. If you decide you would like to be an au pair or demi pair with this family, we will then send the family your profile. Once the family agrees, you will be officially matched. (If you would like to interview the family before matching, please let us know.)
Once matching is complete, you will be asked to pay a deposit (¥30,000) via Wise. (Please register with Wise before matching.) The remaining referral fee should be paid 4 weeks prior to the start date.
Once we receive your deposit, we will send you the family details, invoice, manual and guidelines. Please review all the details and sign the consent form before the training.
We will send you a schedule for your family before the start of the program and confirm the schedule in Japanese. You will also be required to take online training to learn how to interact with children and about life in Australia. We will send you details and dates by email closer to the program.
Please note:
Caring for someone else's child requires trust and responsibility, so always keep an eye on your child's behavior and be a good role model.
Even if someone is a neighbor, do not give out personal information such as your family's addresses.
Although your free time is usually on the weekends, you may be asked to babysit on weekends for paid leave depending on your family's circumstances. Your working hours may also change when your children are on holiday (when they are not in school). Please put your family first and be prepared to respond to sudden requests.
Those who go to school will have fewer working hours during the week, so they may have to work a few hours on the weekends.
Always remember that you are allowed to live in their home, so even on weekends please help out with simple things like washing your own dishes.
It is dangerous to walk alone after dark, so please return home as early as possible. Also, for your own safety, never hitchhike.
Drug use, excessive alcohol consumption, and going out at night other than on weekends or when you have work the next day are all prohibited. If we find you using drugs, we will immediately terminate your contract.
Most families prefer non-smokers. If you are a smoker, please smoke outside. In Australia, smoking is very strict. Please discuss with your family and make sure you smoke in designated areas. Also, never smoke in front of children.
If you have any problems or questions, don't be embarrassed or hesitant to talk to your family about it.
If your family complains about your irresponsible or selfish behavior, or if you fail to follow the guidelines or the family's house rules, you will be given a "two-week notice." If there is no improvement within a few days to a week, you will be asked to move out two weeks after the "two-week notice."
