My Story
I was 21 when I tried to be an au pair. I went to Italy with that feeling, and I remember the first day I was confused because I didn't know what to do. It was a new place and I was doing new things, but that experience changed my values. I learned the joy of intercultural exchange and I wanted to give my children the opportunity to be exposed to different languages in the world in the future. Also, I love Japan and Japanese culture, so I wanted to teach my two children a second language from an early age, and I have accepted many Japanese demi-pairs. We can teach each other our culture, speak Japanese , and my children can speak Japanese, so accepting a demi-pair is a wonderful experience for me. In addition, I work as a hot yoga and pilates instructor, so I really appreciate the flexible response and support of the demi-pairs, and this program is valuable for us, the families who accept them. I hope that more people will know about this wonderful program and look forward to making a wonderful match.

My Story
It was my high school English teacher who got me interested in English and abroad. He showed me pictures and videos of him going to various countries and talking and playing with children from other countries, and I learned that there were still many things and places in the world that I didn't know. And I thought, if I could speak English like my teacher, I might be able to live abroad! I want to see a world I don't know! So I studied English, which I was not good at until then, desperately. Then I wanted to learn English more professionally, so I went on to a foreign language vocational school. I worked part-time at a children's English conversation school, and felt the joy of interacting with children using English and the joy of seeing the children trying hard to use the new words they had learned. From this experience, I had a new dream of working with children using English, and I obtained an English conversation teacher's qualification at a vocational school. After graduating from vocational school, while everyone around me was getting jobs, I wanted to do something different from the others and challenge myself to do something that only I can do now, so I decided to study abroad in Fiji. It was my first time to fly alone, let alone go abroad alone. As soon as I said goodbye to my friends who came to see me off at the airport, I felt lonely and anxious, and cried until I arrived in Fiji. When I arrived in Fiji and got off the plane, I was greeted by a view I had never seen before. I was greeted by a cheerful, cheerful Fijian with a hibiscus on his head and wearing colorful traditional clothing. All the anxiety and loneliness I had felt disappeared in an instant, and I still remember the relief I felt that I was glad I came here. And so my new life began. Even something as simple as buying food was a trial and error away from Japan. I realized how difficult it is to express my intentions in English, and how difficult it is to live with a host family with a different culture and customs. During this life, I had a lot of time to interact with my children. I got soaked together with them in the sea, ran barefoot through the desert, taught them Japanese, and experienced ways of interacting with children that I would never be able to experience in Japan. Spending time with many children and seeing their smiles naturally made me smile too, and I was able to enjoy every day. Even though we live in different places, children's smiles are all over the world, and I wanted to be more involved with those children who make us smile. My study abroad in Fiji, which I was only worried about at first, ended in the blink of an eye. I was very sad to leave the children I enjoyed every day with, but I was able to have a new dream of going to another country and interacting with many children. After returning to Japan, I decided to go to Australia on a working holiday, as I love the sea. However, I was worried about having to find a job and a home on my own, so I couldn't take the plunge. That's when I found out that I could do a working holiday as an "au pair/demi pair." I had already decided on a family to live with before I traveled, and I also had a job. It was a wonderful program that solved all my worries. Furthermore, I was very happy to have found such a dream job where I could spend every day with Australian children, and I decided to participate immediately. Before matching with a family, they listened carefully to my wishes and suggested a family that matched my wishes. Also, when I had any problems, they were quick to respond and I was able to have a wonderful experience with peace of mind. During the limited time of my working holiday, I was able to meet a wonderful family and have a second family in Australia that I can keep in contact with like family even after returning home, which is a great asset for me.
If you give up on what you want to do because of anxiety, you will never find anything new. If you take the courage to step forward, a wonderful experience that you will never forget is waiting for you. Come and create the best unforgettable memories with us!

Hello, I'm Akari
I am mainly in charge of "online training" and "social media public relations."
I try to make the online training as comfortable as possible for participants to ask questions and talk, like a roundtable discussion. I also offer advice as a senior demi-pair to as many participants as possible to resolve any concerns or questions they may have before they start.
I am looking forward to discussing various topics with you during the online training.
My Story
I first traveled to Australia when I was 14 years old. I was suddenly dropped off at the train platform without being able to speak much English. When I was in trouble, an Australian woman nearby spoke to me, and with gestures I told her I wanted to go home and showed her a piece of paper with the address written on it. She gently told me, "Just take the next train and you'll be fine," and I was relieved. All I could do was bow, and I felt regretful that I couldn't speak English, thinking, "If I could speak a little more English, I could express my gratitude properly." Then, I had a strong desire to learn English, so I traveled to Australia again for a year at the age of 17 and attended a local high school. I felt something I had never felt before, such as the difficulty of conversing with local children in English and the joy when they understood what I was trying so hard to communicate. After returning to Japan, I became even more interested in English and other countries, and went on to study at a foreign language university in Japan. While I was in university, I went to Australia again for an internship. I experienced an internship at a hotel, and was able to acquire not only English skills but also hotel knowledge. After returning to Japan, I got a job at a foreign hotel. I felt the joy and fun of being able to entertain many foreigners and convey the good things about Japan using my English. I want to work overseas again! Just as I was starting to have that dream, COVID took all my dreams away. I couldn't go overseas, let alone work at a hotel. Every day I wondered when I would be able to go overseas. Before I knew it, I was almost 30 years old and could go overseas on a working holiday. When COVID subsided, I took my last chance and went to Australia for the fourth time. I was able to work at an Australian hotel again and achieve my dream of working overseas. And I found another new dream. It was to raise my future children with an Australian and Japanese education. And to do that, I wanted to see the education and children's lives in Australia. I can learn about education by attending an Australian school and getting a childcare qualification or studying, but I can't actually interact with children. At that time, I found out about a program called "au pair/demi pair". By participating in this, I can actually live with Australian children every day. I thought it was perfect for me, so I decided to participate immediately. I actually lived with an Australian family and had no experience with children, so I was often very confused. When I was in trouble, I consulted my host mother, who gave me lots of advice and I spent every day with my child, trying different things. There were many challenges for me, who had no experience with children, but more than that, every day was fun and fulfilling. Being in a demi-pair was also a very valuable experience, and I was able to learn a lot about both children and Australia, so I'm glad I took on the challenge.
No one knows what will happen in life. With the mindset of "If in doubt, give it a try," I hope to continue taking on many new challenges. If you are currently unsure about becoming an au pair or demi pair, why not join me in taking on a new step with the mindset of "If in doubt, give it a try"? We at Momiji Co. will support you with all our might.
